In itself, the FE/EIT (Engineer In Training) exam may not have a huge impact. However, the key is to take it as soon as you are eligible. The longer you wait to take the FE/EIT exam, the harder it will be. As an experienced professional, I can attest that the longer you delay, the more challenging the exam becomes due to the lack of recent exposure to the subject matter. Therefore, take the FE/EIT exam as soon as you can. If you do not go for the PE, you have only lost some study time. However, if you do pursue the PE, you will be thankful that you already have the FE/EIT exam under your belt.
