Many baristas move to different coffee shops, often seeking better pay benefits, a more desirable work environment, or a similar role with a different brand. This transition can help them grow professionally and personally, as they continue to hone their coffee-making skills and customer service expertise.

Cafés and Bakeries

Some baristas may choose to work in cafés that serve food and baked goods. This role allows them to expand their skills in both coffee and food preparation. The choice of career path often depends on personal interests, career aspirations, and the opportunities available in the area. For example, one of our former baristas recently transitioned into the solar business, while another pursued cosmetology, and another accepted a position at the state police academy. Many ex-baristas are also in school or mid-life career changers, and we try to nurture those who want to stay in service or retail by offering leadership development within our company.

However, it's also important to note that some baristas continue to stay in the coffee world, as evident in the case where I'm still a barista, but many of my former coworkers have gone on to become great bartenders!
